Maintain Sites

Purpose

Create and maintain the structure of production sites, areas, and lines. The site represents a production plant, areas allow you to organize the lines within the site.  Lines and line groups are the machines or processing units that are scheduled and sequenced in Phenix.

Prerequisites

An organization to contain the site has been created.

Sites

  1. Click on the menu path Setup > Sites to open the Sites screen.

    • If you want to create a new site, click on Create Site at the top of the screen.

    • Site ID: The unique identifier of the site.

    • Description: The plain words description of the site.

    • Timezone: The timezone the site is in. Select from the drop-down.

  2. Clicking on a Site in the table or choosing Details in the right “Action” column will open the Site’s page.

    1. Displays the Site’s details, and its Areas, Line Groups, Resources, and Lines for review.

  3. Additional functionalities found on the Setup > Sites screen:

    1. Click on All Lines at the top of the screen to display the list of all lines and line groups defined in every Site of the Organization.

      1. Lists each line with areas, types, and attributes.

    2. Click on Line Types at the top of the screen to create, edit or delete Line Types.

    3. Click on Line Attributes to create, edit or delete Line Attributes.

Both Line Types and Line Attributes can be also created, edited, or deleted in the "Lines in Area" menu. See Maintain Line Types and Attributes for more information.

Deleting an existing site is only possible on the Site’s page. See Individual Sites section below for more information.

Individual Sites

  1. On the Setup > Sites page, click on a Site entry to go to its page.

  2. To edit the Site’s details, on the Site’s page, click Edit.

    1. A window will open with the same entries as when creating a Site on the Sites page. See above for quick definitions of these entries.

  3. Areas, Lines, Resources, and Line Groups can all be created, maintained, and deleted on this page. See the sections below for more details on each.

Deleting an existing site is only possible when it is empty, i.e. does not contain any areas and lines. If the site is not empty, there is no delete or remove button.

After deleting all lines and all areas, a red Remove button will appear at the top of the screen.

Note that it is not necessary to delete all line groups and resources in order to be able to delete the site.
